Local Partnership Blooms as Marmax Donated Planters in Support of Foundation’s Gardening Group

The Riverside Ground has a fresh new look this autumn thanks to a thoughtful donation from Marmax Products Ltd, a Stanley-based recycled plastic furniture and products manufacturer, to the Foundation’s community gardening group.

As part of its commitment to the community and sustainability, Marmax Recycled Products Ltd donated a series of bespoke planters in Foundation’s branding blue and yellow colours to support its Gardening Group, an initiative that brings volunteers together to maintain and enhance the cricket club’s green spaces.

The donation was officially presented by David Johnson, General Manager, Matthew Grant, Group Managing Director, and Chris Lamb, Production Manager at Marmax, during a visit to the Durham Cricket Club Ground at Riverside.

David Johnson, General Manager at Marmax said “We’re incredibly proud to see our recycled products making a difference locally. At Marmax we are keen to add social value to the local community and this is a great way to do just that.

“To help the gardening group is a great thing and it also allows us to find other ways to help the Foundation so this is the start of an ongoing partnership.”

The Gardening Group, run by Durham Cricket Foundation, uses gardening as a way to support wellbeing, reduce isolation and create a welcoming environment for all who visit the ground.

“This donation has brought a real lift to the team and the grounds,” said Angela Sheridan, Foundation’s Community Inclusion Officer. “Our Gardening Group members take great pride in creating something beautiful together, and Marmax’s generosity helps us keep that going.”

The partnership between Marmax and Durham Cricket Foundation highlights the positive change that can come when local businesses and organisations collaborate for the community’s benefit.
