Lewis names 13-man squad for Outlaws visit

Durham Jets head coach Jon Lewis has named a 13-man squad for tonight’s Natwest T20 Blast fixture against the Nottinghamshire Outlaws (6:30pm start).

The Jets come into the game high in confidence, bouncing back from an opening loss at Worcestershire Rapids by overcoming the Lancashire Lightning at Emirates Old Trafford.

It ended with a convincing six-wicket win after Phil Mustard starred with the bat, almost registering the fastest T20 fifty in club history before being dismissed on 46 from 18 deliveries.

The Rapids defeat was the club’s only defeat in either format of cricket this season and Lewis is looking to keep the momentum rolling.

But they come up against a side with a great recent record, especially here at Emirates Riverside.

The Outlaws have won on their last three visits here and have been victorious from six of the last eight fixtures in this format.

And they can call upon Jake Ball this evening, who was included in the latest Test match squad, alongside Zimbabwean batsman Brendan Taylor after his back-to-back hundreds at Trent Bridge this week.

Lewis has made just the one change to his 13-man squad that travelled to Lancashire Lightning on Friday.

Chris Rushworth is set to make his T20 bow for 2016 after missing the opening games through injury; James Weighell is the man to make way.

The prospects of play are currently good at Emirates Riverside, where it is dry despite overnight rain, and an official update on these prospects will follow during the afternoon.

Tickets are priced at £20 for adults and £5 for juniors, and are available on the gates.
