Durham Cricket are thrilled to announce the signing of Kasey Aldridge on a three-year deal, from the 2026 season.
The 6ft5 bowling all-rounder will be available for Durham in all formats and joins the Club from Somerset County Cricket Club.
Since making his professional debut in 2021, the 24-year-old has gone onto represent Somerset across red and white ball cricket, playing a part in their 2023 Vitality Blast winning campaign, making 60 appearances to-date for the county.
Aldridge, who enjoyed a loan stint with Durham this summer in the Vitality Blast, played eight matches for the Northeast outfit, picking up his maiden T20 five-for against Notts Outlaws claiming 5-29.
The right-arm quick has 76 first-class wickets to his name with a best of 6-110 including four five wicket hauls, while he has also amassed over 1000 first-class runs with a career high of 101* against Lancashire and is closing in on 50 white ball wickets.
The fast bowler and middle order batter represented England Under 19s on 15 occasions and featured for his country in the Under 19 World Cup.
Director of Cricket, Marcus North said: “We’re delighted that Kasey has chosen to join Durham, and we have been able to secure the signing of a highly talented bowling all-rounder.
“At only 24, Kasey has already established great foundations in all formats of his game, and we look forward to nurturing this very exciting talent in his next stage of his career at Durham.
“This is the quality and skillset we have been looking for that will strengthen our bowling attack in all formats. We look forward to him joining back up with us during preseason and the impact he will have with us next season and beyond.”
Aldridge said: “I’m so grateful to be joining Durham for the next 3 years. Obviously having been on loan it’s given me a chance to get to know everyone and see the direction Durham want to go in as a club and it’s so exciting.
“There is a great group of players and staff up there so I can’t wait to get going over the winter and hopefully contribute to some silverware for Durham in the coming seasons. I look forward to seeing everyone soon.”
