Join our Fifty not out programme on Friday 27 July!

After a short summer break Durham County Cricket Foundations 50 Not Out! Programme resumes on Friday 27 July, on day one of Durhams vital home LV=CC fixture against Middlesex CCC

The project, supported by Northumbrian Water and Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, brings together organisations from across the region, including Durham County Council, Age UK Durham, Healthworks, Durham Leisure Services, Smoking and Alcohol Awareness, Durham Constabulary and Durham Skills and Training, to offer health and well-being information to the over fifties.

In this session, participants will have the opportunity to take part in activities with people of a similar age including Nordic walking and cycling. There will also be a table tennis session running in the indoor centre. The Emirates Durham “Learning Beyond the Boundary” Education centre will also be running a technological information session during the afternoon.

The programme has already seen over 150 visits, and at the last session participants braved the rain to take part in a cycle ride and Nordic Walk around the Riverside area and returned to take part in a New Age Kurling session, many of the participants experiencing the sport for the first time. They then returned to the Emirates Durham ICG’s Media and Education Centre to take part in various technology education activities.

The next ‘Fifty Not Out’ session takes place at 1.00pm on Friday July 27th 2012, when
Durham take on Middlesex in the LV= County Championship. Sessions are free but advance booking is essential by calling the Emirates Durham Box Office on (0844) 499 4466.
