Durham County Cricket Club can confirm that Mitchell Johnson will not be joining the Club as an overseas player for the Friends Life t20 competition due to his inclusion in the Australia squad for their One Day International Series this summer.
Johnson was named in the 15 man squad to tour England and Ireland in June and July by Cricket Australia today.
Chief Executive David Harker said, “Obviously we’re disappointed that Mitchell won’t be joining us, we’re going to assess our options before we decide whether we will replace him. With the addition of Herschelle Gibbs to the set up we have a very strong squad so anyone we bring in would need to add something to the team.”
