Jets travel to Lightning for 2nd T20 encounter

The Durham Jets continue their host of away games with a trip to current Natwest T20 Blast holders, Lancashire, tomorrow night (6:30pm start).

With the national side playing at Emirates Riverside over the Bank Holiday weekend, Jon Lewis’ side are on the road for the third successive fixture.

They opened their campaign with a 38-run defeat at the Worcestershire Rapids last Friday.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s inspired century lofted the hosts up to 225 and depsite their best efforts, the Jets fell short.

The side showed their undoubted fighting qualities with a fightback red ball victory against Warwickshire in the week and will use it as a catalyst to improve their white ball fortunes.

They are up against the current champions, however, with England batsman Jos Buttler and overseas Kiwi star Martin Guptill both expected to feature.

Despite that, they were thumped in their opening encounter with Derbyshire and Jets skipper Mark Stoneman can call on the confidence of the Edgbaston victory as they aim to spring a surprise.

A 13-man squad has once again been named by head coach Lewis including Graham Clark, who scored 70 from just 26 balls in this week’s 2nd XI match with the Unicorns.

Jets fans not in attendance at Emirates Old Trafford can follow via our Twitter page or via the BBC Sport live commentary.
