Jets chase fifth straight win

Imran Tahir will make his final home appearance for Durham Jets in tomorrow night’s Vitality Blast match against Northants Steelbacks at Emirates Riverside (6:30pm start).

The leg-spinner has been an integral part of the Jets’ impressive showing through the first seven games, taking 11 wickets at a lowly average of just 17.

Only four players have taken more wickets than Tahir, whose economy rate of 6.67 is the third best of any bowler in the Vitality Blast (minimum of 10 overs).

Ben Stokes drops out of the squad, the only change to the squad named for last week’s victory over Notts Outlaws live on Sky Cricket.

Captain Tom Latham is likely to step back up to opening alongside Graham Clark, renewing a partnership that proved successful at the start of the North Group campaign.

Tickets are available in advance until midnight for the match, adults £15 & juniors £5. On-the-day prices are £20 adults & £5 juniors.

Durham Jets (208/3; Clark 71, Richardson 47*) vs Northants Steelbacks – No Result

The 2017 Blast campaign looked to be ending on a positive note in Northampton before rain curtailed proceedings at the halfway stage.

Northants, who needed to win to stand a chance of progression into the quarter-finals, elected to field & faced what looked to be a stern chase to stay in the running of defending of their crown.

Graham Clark was the star of the innings, scoring 71 off just 37 balls as the Jets stacked up 208/3.

Tom Latham helped Clark put on 107 for the second wicket before Michael Richardson ended his solid T20 season on another high, smashing 47 off 27 balls.

However, heavy rain came at the interval & the match was called off without a result.
