Hollie Armitage to represent Syndey Sixers in Women’s Big Bash League, beginning this weekend

Durham captain Hollie Armitage will begin her campaign with Sydney Sixers this weekend, facing Melbourne Renegades.

Armitage is part of a star-studded Sixers squad featuring Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry and T20 World Cup winner Amelia Kerr alongside England international Sophie Ecclestone.

The 27-year-old was second highest run scorer in the 2024 Charlotte Edwards Cup with 323 runs at an average of 36, top scoring with 97 against Western Storm.

Armitage previously represented the Sixers in the 2019 season and has recently played for South Australia in state cricket, making scores of 75 and 99 in two matches.

Armitage will come up against the likes of Alice Capsey and Deandra Dottin in the Sixers’ opener at Adelaide.

After lifting the title and finishing second twice apiece in the opening four editions, the Sydney side are looking for a third crown in the 10th edition of the competition.

The Women’s Big Bash League gets underway this Sunday with the Sixers starting their season at 6:10am UK time.
