Hogg and Mustard selected in England Young Lions Invitational squad

Durham’s Daniel Hogg and Haydon Mustard have been named in the England Young Lions squad.

The Durham duo will represent England Young Lions later this month against Australia and Ireland.

The England Under-19s selectors have named an 18-player Young Lions Invitational squad for the two-day match against Australia and the 50-over match against Ireland.

Tall quick bowler Daniel Hogg has impressed for Durham 2XI this season with 14 wickets in the Championship and is currently the leading wicket-taker in the twos. Hogg also has 13 wickets for North East Premier League side Burnopfield with a best of 4/18 in a win over Hetton Lyons.

Wicket-keeper batter Haydon Mustard is also selected; he has scored 311 runs for Durham under 18s top scoring with 89 against Lancashire and has 13 catches and 7 stumpings.

Both Hogg and Mustard recently featured for the North of England at the ECB Super4s.
