George Drissell stars with bat and ball, runs for Killeen and Hogg: League roundup

With the North East Premier League and North Yorkshire South Durham Leagues underway, Durham Cricket will continue to provide weekly updates when Durham players are in action.

George Drissell shone with bat and ball for South Northumberland at Roseworth Terrace in their four-wicket victory over Ashington. Drissell claimed impressive figures of 3/39 in nine overs as the visitors finished on 203/9.

Batting at three, Drissell led the chase for the hosts scoring 89* from 91 with nine fours and three sixes in his innings. He remained unbeaten as South Northumberland secured victory with just over five overs remaining.

Mitchell Killeen scored 60 for Burnmoor in their eight-wicket victory over Felling in the North East Premier League. Felling were bowled out for 146 at High Heworth Lane before Killeen hit 60 from 58 balls from number three, featuring 11 fours as he helped lead Burnmoor to a convincing victory.

Paul Coughlin and Daniel Hogg were both in batting action as Hetton Lyons hosted Newcastle, recording a 17-run win. Batting at four, Coughlin made 28 from 35 deliveries with four boundaries as the Lyons went on to score 222/9 in 45 overs.

Hogg struck a 25-ball innings of 37 in vein, hitting three fours and a maximum as Newcastle finished on 205 for seven at The GF Group Cricket Ground.

Faizan Ghumman and Stanley McAlindon were both in action during Tynemouth’s 48-run defeat to Castle Eden. Ghumman took two wickets for the hosts as the Parklands-based side made 234/9 in their innings. Ghumman (25) and McAlindon (35) led a recovery for Tynemouth from 45 for five but the hosts ended up being bowled out for 186

Teddy Minto and James Minto featured for Norton in the ECB National Club Championship in their 30-run defeat to Harrogate. Teddy took figures of 2/31 as the hosts were bowled out for 182. James opened the batting for Norton, scoring 30 from 58 balls with twin brother Teddy scoring 17.
