Free entry for Sussex RL50 home fixture

Durham Cricket are set to grant free entry for their Royal London One-Day Cup game on Wednesday, 17th August, 11am, as the club holds their Community Day during the fixture against Sussex.

The day will celebrate the community work which is being delivered every season from the cricket network in Durham – from volunteers in nearly 100 local clubs to projects delivered by Durham Cricket and its Foundation.

The Everyone Active Family Zone will be open with catching, bowling, batting and fielding activities for the youngest cricketers as the club holds its All Stars Cricket and Dynamos Cricket Celebration Day for participants in ECB’s entry-level cricket programmes.

During the day, Durham Cricket will showcase its Foundation’s projects aiming to improve the physical and mental wellbeing and tackle social isolation for people aged 50+.

Long-standing partner of Durham Foundation, The Great North Children’s Hospital will be in attendance with eleven of its departments bringing a pop up hospital, offering interactive games and activities throughout the day.

The Foundation and the Hospital will highlight the impactful work the charities are delivering together to long-term patients at the Newcastle Bridges School using the power of cricket.

The day will also incorporate the club’s annual Volunteer Recognition Day, celebrating the outstanding efforts on hundreds of volunteers supporting the grassroots game at cricket clubs across Durham every season.
