Franklin names 14 for Yorkshire friendly

Durham Lead High Performance Coach James Franklin has named a 14-man squad for Durham’s two day friendly against Yorkshire, which begins tomorrow (Monday 27 July) at Emerald Headingley, starting at 11am.

The match will be Durham’s first opportunity to play against another county since the ECB gave the go ahead for professional cricket to return and will enable the squad to have some competitive outdoor match practice before next week’s Bob Willis Trophy opener against Yorkshire at Emirates Riverside.

The Durham squad last week took part in a three-day inter-squad game and will use tomorrow’s two-day game as further practice ahead of the first-class season beginning on August 1.

New signings David Bedingham and Sean Dickson are both included, while Paul Coughlin is also named in the squad following his return to Durham from Nottingham.

Michael Jones is also named in the squad,  the 22 year-old scoring an unbeaten 127 in Durham’s inter-squad game last week.

Squad: Alex Lees, Sean Dickson, Cameron Steel, Michael Jones, David Bedingham, Gareth Harte, Stuart Poynter, Jack Burnham, Ned Eckersley (c,wk), Paul Coughlin, Ben Raine, Matthew Potts, Matthew Salisbury, Chris Rushworth

The fixture will have multi-camera streamed coverage with BBC commentary exclusive to Durham and Yorkshire members. Members signed up to Durham’s newsletter will receive a link to watch the stream tomorrow morning.

A reminder this match is being played behind closed doors.
