This aims to provide a permanent home for the Academy; a facility for the first time for women cricketers; and a much needed central resource for community cricket and coaching through the Cricket Board. All of us who believe in the power of the sport to transform lives and opportunities have long hoped for this facility.

The success of cricketing youth development through Durham and across the region is rightly famous – one in four of our Academy graduates has played first-class cricket, one in eleven at international level. Many more today play important roles in local Club cricket. If we can build this facility, the opportunities will be much greater and for many more; for boys and girls of all backgrounds; and at all ages and abilities.
