Final preparations underway for England vs Sri Lanka

The finishing touches are currently being added as Emirates Riverside gears up to host the Second Investec Test match between England and Sri Lanka.

Both sides have arrived for the first of two practice days before the match commences at 11am on Friday morning.

And Durham staff are currently preparing the ground for its sixth Test match, and first against the Sri Lankans.

The visitors have won both of their One-Day internationals on this ground, the last coming on the 2014 tour, but England are looking to continue an excellent record in the North East.

The national side have won all five of their previous matches here, including an Ashes-clinching win over Australia in 2013.

And another win would secure an unassailable 2-0 series lead after a thumping victory at Headingley in the First Test last week.

Jonny Bairstow scored an emotional hundred on home turf before James Anderson’s ten-wicket match haul sealed the win by an innings and 88 runs.

Tickets are still available for all days of the match, though the Box Office have experienced a large number of calls in the last few days.

Day Two (Saturday, 28 May) has limited availability while Day Three is also heading in the same direction.

To secure your ticket, call the Box Office on 0844 499 4466, or click here to order online.

We look forward to welcoming all fans to Emirates Riverside for what we anticipate will be a fantastic occasion.
