Emily Windsor extends until 2027

Durham Cricket are delighted to announce that Emily Windsor has signed a contract extension.

Windsor will remain in Chester-le-Street until at least the end of the 2027 season having impressed in the latter half of her first season in the North East.

After undergoing hip surgery, the 28-year-old made her comeback against Somerset in the Vitality Blast and showed what she is capable of in just her third appearance, top scoring with an unbeaten 36 to see Durham over the line against Hampshire Hawks.

Windsor then finished the domestic season with a flourish notching two half-centuries in five One Day Cup appearances, including 55 on her Durham List A debut against Lancashire before adding 54 against The Blaze.

An experienced member of the squad, the Hampshire pathway graduate has racked up over 1,000 professional List A runs whilst having represented Welsh Fire in The Hundred since 2023, after previous spells with Oval Invincibles and Trent Rockets.

Alongside her playing role Emily will continue to work part-time in the Science and Medicine department, operating as a physiotherapist for the male and female talent pathways.

On her contract extension, Emily said: “I’m buzzing to extend with Durham, since I’ve moved up here it’s been such a great club.

“It’s a group of players that are hungry to win trophies and hungry to get better and I wanted to be part of that moving forward with Durham.

“It was a no brainer to sign a deal with Durham, I obviously didn’t play as much as I wanted to last year due to my injury but when I got onto the park and made my debut for the Club it was extra special, and I now hope to put many match winning performances in for Durham.

“I can’t wait for the new season to start and get back to performing with Durham and this great group of girls.
