Emilio Gay joins New York Lions for USA National Cricket League

Durham batter Emilio Gay will join up with the New York Lions this week to play in the National Cricket League USA.

Gay will feature in the T10 league which gets underway on Friday 3 October, with the New York side beginning their campaign the following day.

The 25-year-old will play alongside the likes of Shimron Hetmyer, Pat Brown and Wayne Parnell in the competition, which ends on 13 October.

Having yet to make an appearance for Durham in the shortest format, Gay showed his white ball capabilities scoring 119* in the One Day Cup against Kent at Beckenham.

The top-order batter has 354 runs in the T20 format with two half-centuries, having also represented Italy in the format on the international stage.
