Durham posted a total of 189 in difficult conditions and the hosts were set the target of 193 for the win. Phil Mustard was dismissed early on, caught by Bailey off Goudie for 12. Michael Di Venuto was the pick of the Durham batsmen, scoring a 55 ball fifty, before he was caught by Lockhart off Drummond for 63.
Ben Stokes (39) and Dale Benkenstein (34) were the other main contributors to the total.
The bulk of the opposition wickets were shared between Ian Blackwell and Stephen Harmison with Chris Rushworth, Liam Plunkett and Ben Stokes each picking up a wicket.
The Saltires lasted the 30 overs but were well short of the target set.
