Durham Youth Academy set for UAE tour

The Academy have participated in the cup for the past six years, claiming the title in 2005 and reaching the finals in 2006.

The squad have been fundraising to help finance the trip and have been supported by Academy sponsor Ebac.

Academy Manager, John Windows, said, “The lads have been working tirelessly in their winter training sessions to ensure they’re in the best possible shape for their trip.  The Gulf Cup offers them a great opportunity to experience conditions that they haven’t been previously been exposed to which will help them develop their skills ahead of the 2011 cricket season.

“We’re delighted to have once again been invited to take part in the competition and I’m sure the squad will do a brilliant job representing Durham CCC abroad.  I’m really proud of the effort they’ve put in so far so hopefully they will reap the rewards on the field.”
