Durham v Middlesex – Match Preview

Muchall top scored once more when the sides met again on Friday night in the NatWest T20 Blast, as the Jets picked up a dramatic three run win.

That victory should give the team a sizeable boost, along with the arrival of overseas player John Hastings, who jetted in on Saturday after his spell in the IPL came to an end.

Hastings looks set to take on fellow Australian and good friend Chris Rogers, as Middlesex’s experienced captain brings his side to the North East.

Rogers is the leading scorer in Division One this season, and his 591 runs have helped the men from Lords start 2014 in fine form.

Middlesex lead the way at the top of the table, with a 15 point advantage over second placed Somerset thanks to four victories from their opening seven matches.

A word from the home camp
Jon Lewis, Durham Head Coach: “They’re top of the table, in a decent bit of form. They’ll be confident when they get here so we’ll be expecting decent competition. Although we haven’t got any wins yet this year, we haven’t played too badly. We’re beginning to come together in batting and bowling, and I think John (Hastings) will help us as well”
