Durham v Essex: Spectator Information

Durham return back to Emirates Riverside on Sunday for their Royal London Cup campaign against Essex, having started the competition with 3 wins from 5. We are looking forward to welcoming Key Workers to the game on Sunday and we hope you enjoy coming to see Durham in action.

Due to a positive response to this game we expect a large crowd to be in attendance so we encourage members and spectators to arrive early.

We have set out a Spectator Code of Conduct which will be continually updated and everyone should read this before they attend any games at Emirates Riverside.

GATES

 Due to the size of the crowd expected we have brought gate opening time forward by half an hour to 9.30am

Entry can be from 9:30am at Gates 2 and Gates 5. For those collecting or buying tickets this can be done from Gate 2.

Hospitality gates will also open at 9:30am.

HOURS OF PLAY

The scheduled hours of play are as follows, but please listen for announcements of any adjustments to these timings on the day.

11.00 Start of play

14.30 (approx) Interval between innings. (30 minutes)

18.30 Scheduled Close of Play

BEFORE YOU LEAVE

First and foremost, if you (or your guests) find yourself feeling unwell on the morning of the match, please do not come to the ground.

CAR PARKING

Due to a large number of spectators due to attend Sunday’s game we encourage you to arrive early if travelling by car. There will be limited car parking on site, so we would encourage spectators to park in parking spaces around Chester le Street. For those parking outside the ground, parking be paid for at £4 per car with cash.

COVID SAFE MEASURES

We will be operating a policy of “Masks on the Move”, meaning that face coverings are recommended to be worn (unless you are exempt) when moving around the ground but not while seated. Please also make use of the hand sanitisers around the ground.

Social distancing will not be enforced but please be considerate of those around you and take sensible precautions as the ground will be busy.

We will continue our increased hygiene and cleaning measures,

Access onto the Playing Surface/Pitch is not allowed at anytime during the Match

SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS

Please allow sufficient time for our staff to carry out our security procedures (including bag searches and “pat – down”checks).

You can also assist with the security operation by reporting any concerns-no matter how small-to the club’s stewards. Help stay secure by staying alert; if something doesn’t look right, tell a steward.

LEAVING THE GROUND

The pass out facility will be available to spectators throughout the day for those wishing to leave and re-enter the ground during a match.

We ask that all members and other spectators leave the ground promptly at the conclusion of the match. Please follow the instructions from our stewards when doing so. As we may seek to reduce congestion on exit by staggering departure times from particular areas.
