Durham v Essex: Match attendance information

Durham Cricket is delighted to welcome members and fans back to Emirates Riverside, for the first time in over a year, when Durham play Essex in the County Championship next week.

There will be a number of measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort when attending the game.

We have set out a Spectator Code of Conduct which will be continually updated and everyone should read this before they attend any games at Emirates Riverside. You can read the current Code of Conduct here

Gates will open at the earlier time of 9.30am and the game will start at 11am. Upon arrival members and members guest passes will be scanned at the gate. If you have purchased tickets for the day all ticket holders will be asked to scan the QR codes at the gate or register your contact details with our gate staff. This will ensure we have the ability to track and trace everyone who attends on the day.

In order to speed up entry for individual match purchasers – if you have bought more than one ticket can you please contact our box office in advance of the game with the name and contact details of each individual attending with your tickets

Memberships and tickets for the game are still available online or by contacting our box office and tickets will be available to purchase at the gate but again anyone who purchases a ticket will have to provide contact details so please arrive early as the process will be slower than usual.

Please read all further instructions below ahead of attending the game:

Safety and Security Instructions

Do not attend the match if you are experiencing any of the COVID related symptoms.

Spectators may want to consider taking a lateral flow test before attending games.

It is likely a higher proportion of spectators may choose to drive to the ground in private vehicles, which will have an impact upon parking in the vicinity of the ground.

If traveling to the game on public transport please adhere to the measures in place and wear a mask.

The ground will open at 0930 each day.

Entry will be via Gate 2.

Ticket, safety and security checks will take place on entry to the ground. Membership and guest pass tickets will be scanned. Details will be taken or a QR code will need to be scanned for single match ticket holders and on the day purchasers. – In order to speed up entry for individual match purchasers – if you have bought more than one ticket you can contact our box office in advance of the game with the name and contact details of each individual attending with your tickets.

Entry will generally take longer due to Covid measures so please be patient and allow extra time to access the ground.

In order to assist in this process please avoid bringing bags if at all possible.

Signage has been introduced within the ground to ensure, as far as possible, all areas are one-way only and enable adequate social distancing. Ground markings will be in place indicating the ‘keep left’ and one-way routes through stands. Please follow signage and stewarding directions.

It is not necessary to wear face coverings when seated watching the match. It is recommended that when moving around and especially indoors and in all covered communal / covered areas including on entry and in queues, toilets etc. a face covering should be worn.

Please sit in any stand or block but ensure that at least 1 seat distance is kept between you and the next person not forming part of your bubble.  Please note;

  • All seat rows will be used
  • The end seat of each row adjacent to the radial gangway will remain vacant.

Disabled spectators will be accommodated in the allocated areas across the lateral gangway running from Block 12 to Block 21. Access to this area is provided by the lift at Tower 1. There are also disabled viewing areas located in blocks 1 to 4 and also behind the north west terrace in front of Bannatynes.

The club reception will be closed. Score cards and Yearbooks are available from the club shop.

All normal toilet facilities will be available for use, please ensure social distancing is maintained when entering and exiting these areas.

Members lounge arrangements and other concessions

Please be aware that there is a reduced capacity in this space to adhere to social distancing rules. We ask that members are considerate of each other and use the lounge for refreshment and respite but do not occupy space for extended periods to allow others to enjoy the facility.

The members balcony will be available but social distancing measure will be in place so seating capacity is severely reduced.
