Durham Seconds suffered defeat and an abandonment in their ECB 2XI T20 North Group clash with Leicestershire at Kibworth Cricket Club.

Ben McKinney won the toss and elected to bat in game one but lost Jonathan Bushnell and McKinney cheaply as Durham found their self 25/2 in the opening stages.

A 45-run partnership between Graham Clark and Mitchell Killeen steadied the ship for Durham but Clark fell to Roman Walker for 32 and Killeen for 26.

George Drissell added 29 with 3 fours and 1 six as the visitors closed on 151/7 from 20 overs.

Former Durham seamer Matt Salisbury claimed 2/21 as the rest of the Leicestershire wickets were shared around.

Bushnell dismissed both of the Leicestershire opening batters for less than 20 and despite 2/8 from Paul Coughlin in 4 overs Leicestershire chased down 151 in the penultimate over as Harry Swindells as Nico Reifer top scored with 37.

Coughlin, Bushnell claimed two apiece with Mitchell Killeen bagging one.

In game two, Leicestershire won the toss and elected to bat, with Durham striking instantly to reduce the hosts to 25/2, as Jonathan Bushnell and Ollie Gibson claimed early wickets.

Mitchell Killeen claimed (2/11) and George Drissell (1/15), as rain began to fall at 11:55am with Leicestershire 95/5.
