Durham head to Trent Bridge to face Glamorgan in Royal London Cup Final

Durham have a chance to secure silverware for the first time since 2014 when they take on Glamorgan in tomorrow’s Royal London Cup final at Trent Bridge starting at 1pm.

Durham finished top of group A with 6 wins and one loss form their group stage games and progressed through to the final following yesterday’s semi-final win over Surrey at Emirates Riverside.

Ahead of tomorrow’s final, Ben Raine and Matthew Potts return to the 15 man squad, following the conclusion of the Northern Superchargers Hundred campaign. Brydon Carse is unavailable for tomorrow’s game.

Graham Clark remains top of the run charts with his 606 runs leading the way as the countries leading run scorer while Alex Lees is 59 runs behind him with 547. Chris Rushworth is Durham’s leading wicket with 16 two behind Simon Harmer, therefore three wickets could make him the leading wicket taker in the country following tomorrow’s game.

Tomorrow’s clash against Glamorgan will the 24th time Durham have gone up against the Welsh side in List A cricket, their most recent fixture being back in 2014 when Durham came out on top by 52 runs. Only Scott Borthwick featured in Durham’s game at the Swalec as Durham bowled out Glamorgan for 133 in reply to Durham’s 185.

Words from Scott Borthwick

“It’s a good sign that the two group winners will play in the final. A Thursday final at Trent Bridge will be a bit different. It’s almost like an FA Cup final not being played at Wembley. Lord’s finals are special, but Trent Bridge is an amazing ground and it’s going to be an exciting occasion. It will be special for me as it was in 2014 when we won. To lead the team will be special, but we’ve got one more game to go and we’re all excited for it.”

Match Centre

The fixture against Glamorgan will be broadcast live on Sky Sports and therefore this game won’t be streamed via the clubs youtube channel.  There will also be regular updates on Twitter, with a match report and post-match reaction on the website following Thursday’s Final.
