Durham Girls u19 head to Dubai

Durham County Cricket Board are delighted to announce that the Girls under19 side will be touring Dubai in 2013 and taking part in an international cricket festival.

The Durham Girls (15 players and three coaches) will be joined by their counterparts from Lancashire, Sussex, Wales, Ireland, Scotland and a development England junior squad for the week long competition organised by SportArabia.

The Durham squad will be made up of players from our under 17s and under 15s teams; we are especially keen for the players who are part of the ECB Emerging Player Program to attend to further their development and hopefully become part of the successful England cricket team.

However, the trip is not fully funded and the girls have been working hard to raise the rest of the funds. They have already arranged bag packing, car washing, a band night and are applying to other funding organisations to help support the trip.

But the squad still need to raise funds for the trip and are looking for support from the region.

We would be extremely grateful if you are able to support the girls as this is an excellent opportunity to develop our most talented players and further enhance Durham’s growing reputation within the Women’s and Girls game.

If you would like further information about the trip or could help with the fundraising for the Girls squad then please do not hesitate to get in contact on the below details.
