Durham duo make ODI squad

Ben Stokes & Mark Wood have been selected for England’s upcoming ODI series against New Zealand in February/March.

Both are retained from the initial squad picked against Australia in the recent 4-1 drubbing, though Stokes did not feature due to the ongoing legal proceedings following September’s incident.

The five match series starts in Hamilton on Sunday, 25 February & finishes in Christchurch two weeks later.

Wood looked back towards his best, taking four wickets in as many matches as they avenged a heavy Ashes defeat with white ball success.

The pace man is currently preparing for the T20 tri-series against Australia & New Zealand, taking one wicket in the big warm-up win over a Prime Minister’s XI.

Stokes’s involvement is subject to any court obligations in relation to the incident in Bristol.

The pair are likely to face off against Durham team mate Tom Latham, who has become an integral part of New Zealand’s ODI team over the last 12 months.
