The awards continued to go Durham’s way as coach Geoff Cook won the Coach of the Year award.
Durham County Cricket Club Chief Executive, David Harker, said, “Both the team and Geoff fully deserved their awards last night. Geoff Cook’s involvement at the Club spans two decades and his input has seen youngsters he has worked with through the Academy come through the Club set up to become vital members of this Durham squad. His passion and dedication for the game has had a great impact on the team and his contribution fully deserves recognition.”
Sponsored by One NorthEast and organised by Sport England North East, Sunderland City Council and BBC North East, the awards were presented by BBC Look North’s Jeff Brown and Charlie Charlton at the already iconic Sunderland Aquatic Centre.
