Durham Cricket update on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The ongoing situation with regards to Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to cause uncertainty and disruption across the country. Durham Cricket are following current government and English Cricket Board (ECB) guidance with regards to staff welfare and the operation of the business.

The Senior Leadership Team at the club are meeting each morning to review any changes to guidance and will make sensible risk-based decisions with regards to all aspects of the club.

At this stage it is unclear what impact this will have on the forthcoming season for both the professional and grassroots game, and major events at the venue. We will endeavour to keep members, fans, players, staff and customers updated as soon as we have further information and decisions are made.

We would like to assure everyone that the health and well-being of our staff, players and customers remains the main priority of the club in all decisions that are made.

Whilst no members of the playing squad or coaching staff have shown any symptoms of the virus, and there was no increased threat to the players by remaining in Zimbabwe, the decision was made to return early from the pre-season tour due to disruption to international travel and so that everyone could return home to their families during these uncertain times.

We will continue to provide updates across our website and social media channels and, wherever possible, directly to those people affected by any decisions around fixtures, events and activities.
