Durham Cricket Partners with Local Suicide Support Charity ‘If U Care Share’ for Dedicated T20 Blast Fixture

Durham Cricket are proud to announce a new partnership with Chester-le-Street-based suicide support charity If U Care Share, further strengthening the club’s commitment to supporting mental health and wellbeing in the community.

As part of this collaboration, Durham will dedicate its T20 Vitality Blast double-header fixture on Friday 4 July to If U Care Share, helping to raise awareness of the vital services the charity provides. The match day will feature both the Durham Women’s team taking on Somerset, followed by Durham Men’s team facing Nottinghamshire in an exciting evening of cricket with a purpose.

If U Care Share offers a wide range of support focused on prevention, intervention, and supporting those bereaved by suicide. With over a decade of experience in the region, the charity plays a critical role in offering practical and emotional help to those in need.

The charity’s team will be present at the Banks Homes Riverside ground throughout the fixture, offering information, support, and a listening ear to any spectators looking to learn more or who may be struggling themselves.

Durham Cricket will also take meaningful internal steps by engaging in staff training delivered by If U Care Share, ensuring the club’s employees are equipped with the tools and understanding to provide support and foster a mentally healthy environment.

David Jackson, Marketing Director at Durham Cricket, said:

“We have been speaking with If U Care Share for a number of years. They provide an invaluable service across Durham, and we are pleased to be able to help raise awareness of what they do. It’s equally important for us to tap into their expertise to support our staff and ensure we are doing all we can as a club to promote mental wellbeing.”

Matthew Smith, Chief Operating Officer and Founder of If U Care Share, said:

“We are delighted to be partnering with and supporting Durham Cricket. They obviously have a big audience in the region in which we provide support. Hopefully, we can raise awareness of the services available and help anyone who is struggling or has been affected by suicide.”

Fans attending the match are encouraged to engage with the charity’s team and learn more about the support available. Tickets for the dedicated fixture are available now from just £5 and can be purchased online.
