Durham Cricket partner with Croxdale Group

Durham Cricket is pleased to confirm a new a two-year sponsorship deal with Croxdale Group.

A large, family-owned car dealership in Durham, the firm has signed a two-year deal with the County Club.

Croxdale Group, which has been in operation since 1967, has entered a partnership with the Chester le Street side until the completion of the 2026 season.

The large, multi-franchised car dealership and servicing and repair centre is the home of Citroën, DS, MG, Jeep, Alfa Romeo, and Leapmotor in Durham – and also has more than 200 approved used vehicles on site at any one time.

Anthony Rockingham, managing director of Croxdale Group, said the partnership with Durham Cricket represented the business’ commitment to putting itself at the heart of the local community.

“At Croxdale Group, we believe in community spirit, and we are keen to support local clubs and organisations in any way we can, whether it’s by raising funds for charities like Butterwick Hospice or providing sponsorship to sporting clubs and events,” said Anthony.

“We are very proud to be working in partnership with Cricket until the completion of the 2026 season and look forward to supporting the team in its endeavours.

“We wish them successful campaigns in the Vitality Blast throughout 2025 and 2026.”

Durham recently signed New Zealand International Jimmy Neesham ahead of their 2025 campaign in the Vitality Blast Twenty20 cricket league – and Croxdale have offered to provide him with a vehicle ahead of an upcoming six-week visit to the county.

A destructive middle-order batter with 83 international T20 appearances, the 34-year-old is approaching 1000 T20 runs for his nation with a strike rate of above 150, hitting a best of 48* from just 24 deliveries against the West Indies in 2020.

Anthony said: “It will be exciting to see this experienced player hopefully spread some magic at Durham and we look forward to welcoming him at Croxdale Group.”

The partnership between Croxdale Group and Durham Cricket will see the Croxdale brand enhance its visibility, within signage positioned around the Banks Homes Riverside.

In addition, Croxdale will support Durham’s annual race day, shoot day and golf day.

Durham Cricket, Commercial Director, Tom Seymour said: “We’re delighted that Croxdale Group have partnered with the Club, in an exciting two-year deal.

“This new partnership enables the club to work alongside a local car dealership who have a proud history in our region.

“We look forward to establishing a strong relationship in the coming years.”

Last year, Croxdale Group raised more than £14,000 for local charities and supplied a van to Butterwick Hospice.

After a successful period of trading, despite difficult market conditions, Croxdale is keen to give back by providing meaningful support to groups and clubs that enrich the lives of people in their community – and Durham Cricket is one such organisation.
