Durham Cricket further update on spectators

In light of the recent government announcement stating that fans will not be allowed to attend the pilot sports events scheduled for this weekend, unfortunately next weekend’s fixture against Lancashire will be played behind closed doors.

It had been hoped that spectators would have been allowed to attend our second Bob Willis Trophy game, but with the spike in coronavirus cases in the UK, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that sporting events will not currently be open to the public.

As expected, the club are disappointed at this news, but the health and safety of our members, supporters and the general public is our main priority,

The new restrictions on fans will be enforced until at least 15 August and we hope to have a further update on this then.
