The Foundation is inviting the local community to get into the festive spirit at a special Christmas Coffee Morning and Craft Market on Wednesday 3rd December, at the Banks Homes Riverside Ground.
The event, running from 10am to 12pm in the Geoff Cook Suite, promises a warm and welcoming morning filled with handcrafted festive gifts, decorations and seasonal treats, all lovingly made by the Foundation’s Crafts Groups.
Visitors can browse a beautiful selection of handmade Christmas crafts, enjoy free tea and coffee, and soak up the holiday atmosphere, while supporting a great local cause. Every penny raised from the craft sales will go back to Durham Cricket Foundation, helping to directly fund these craft groups and their vital community programmes across the region.
The Foundation’s weekly Embroidery, Glass Painting and Crafty Needles Groups bring together 54 people who enjoy creativity, connection and shared learning. Two of the groups are proudly supported with funds from the National Lottery, helping the Foundation provide a welcoming space where people can connect, develop skills and form meaningful friendships through craft.
“Our Crafts Groups have been busy all year preparing for this event,” said Angela Sheridan, Durham Cricket Foundation’s Community Inclusion Officer. “It’s a lovely opportunity to come together, celebrate the season and support the Foundation’s craft groups and wider work in bringing cricket and community projects to people of all ages and abilities.”
Whether you’re looking for a thoughtful handmade gift or simply a friendly festive get-together, everyone is welcome to come along and join in the seasonal fun.
