You may have seen our recent announcement with regards to 2020 Memberships. Following an uncertain start to the summer it has now become clear that members and spectators are not able to attend the full revised fixture schedule at Emirates Riverside. We have therefore moved quickly to offer members some options for their 2020 membership and 2021 renewal.
We have developed a package which allows members to donate their 2020 membership fee, should they wish to do so. The Durham Defender scheme provides a number of additional benefits to members as a gesture of thanks for your ongoing support of the club throughout this difficult time.
We would once again like to thank you for your enthusiastic support of the club and your patience and understanding during this period.
Reaction to the Durham Defender initiative has been overwhelmingly positive, with many members expressing their support, and a number of enquiries from people wishing to take up membership in support of the initiative.
Should you choose the Durham Defender option, donating your 2020 membership fee, you will receive a number of additional benefits to your 2021 membership by way of a thank you for your generous support. These include:
DURHAM DEFENDER
· 20% discount on 2021 membership
· 2 free passes to all Durham Cricket County Championship and 50 over games in the 2021 season (bring your friends and family with you for the whole season) – please note guests cannot be current 2020 or previous 2019 members – This will be strictly checked. Guests do not have to attend games with the member.
· An evening with Sir Ian Botham and guests (invitation to a free pie and peas supper with our Chairman and some special guests)
· Entry to any games that we are able to allow members access to in 2020
· Name on a specially commissioned Durham Defender mural to be installed at Emirates Riverside
· Plus – all of the usual membership benefits including: access to over 40 days of cricket, the members lounge, reciprocal deals at other North East venues, meet the players evenings, 2021 yearbook, early purchase for our 2021 international fixture and, where possible, concerts. And, new for 2021 – exclusive member only online content.
We do however appreciate that this is a difficult time for everyone and some members may not be able to take up this offer. We are therefore also offering the option of a full refund of your 2020 membership fee should you prefer.
HOW TO INFORM US OF YOUR DECISION
· To inform us of your decision with regards to your 2020 membership and 2021 renewal simply complete the form you have received in the post. Alternatively, you can complete the form online at the bottom of this article.
· If you wish to take up the Durham Defender option please tick the box associated with your membership. This will allow us to automatically sign you up for your 2021 membership with the enhanced Durham Defender benefits.
· If you wish to receive a full refund of your 2020 membership fee please tick the refund box. If you also wish to renew your membership for 2021 you can tick the appropriate membership renewal box to both receive a refund and activate renewal for next season (please note – if you choose a refund you will not receive the Durham Defender benefits but you are still entitled to the early bird discount should you renew before the early bird deadline).
TIMESCALES
· Please could you inform us of your decision by Sunday 13 September 2020. This will allow us to process refunds by the end of September 2020.
· If you choose to be a Durham Defender or select to renew your membership separately for 2021 – the 2021 membership fee will be taken from your account in November. Members who pay by Direct Debit will be processed as usual.
· If you request a refund and do not wish to renew your membership immediately you still have until 20 December 2020 to take advantage of the Early Bird pricing. Your refund will be processed in September and you will no longer be able to take up the Durham Defender package.
