Durham Cricket dedicate Lancashire fixture to the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust

Durham Cricket are dedicating their T20 Blast fixture against Lancashire Lightning this Friday, 10th June to the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust.

The club, joined by visiting Lancashire will pay tribute to Chloe Rutherford and Liam Curry, as the five-year anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing was marked last month.

The Trust, which helps young people living in the North East to reach their potential in the fields of sport and performance, will fundraise towards continuing its inspiring legacy at the game on Friday, 10th June.

The day will feature a dance performance from some of the young dancers The Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust supports before the T20 fixture.

Chloe was a talented performer and Liam – a skilled cricketer who played for Marsden Cricket Club.

The charity in their name now grants bursaries to support young performers and sportspeople, with many crickets, Durham clubs and coaches already supported by the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust.

Durham Cricket are proud to have supported the charity’s fundraising efforts in the past with Durham’s side participating in local tournaments at Marsden Cricket Club and the North East Warriors, merged Durham and Northumberland women’s side, also fundraising during their ECB Vitality Blast home game at Whitburn in April this season.

Now, the club is glad to dedicate the upcoming fixture to the Trust.

Donations will be collected via a text donation service and bucket collection points, available at Seat Unique Riverside across the day.

The Durham Cricket club shop is offering wristbands, pens and face paint now.

Durham Cricket Marketing Director, David Jackson, said: “The club are proud to be able to support the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust by dedicating Friday’s game in support of the charity which is doing wonderful work across the north east.

“Many people will be aware of the tragic events which took place on Manchester and we thought the game against Lancashire would be a fitting tribute to both Liam and Chloe and a chance to raise funds for their charity.

“We hope everyone can come down, support the charity and enjoy the cricket, a sport that they loved.”
