Durham Cricket Board Coaches Conference 2013

Durham Cricket Board Coaches Association in partnership with Durham County Council and their Volunteer Durham Project are pleased to announce details of the 2013 Coaches Conference set to take place on Sunday 13th January 2013.

The conference is targeted at any current qualified coach of any level working within clubs with any age group:

‘The art of spin bowling’
Durham spinner Gareth Breese will explore the challenges coaches face in identifying and producing young spinners, and developing them into mentally tough spin bowlers.

‘Developing streetwise fast bowlers’
Former Durham bowler, and the current Holland and England Lions bowling coach, Neil Killeen has a wealth of experience when it comes to coaching fast bowlers.

‘Basics of Batting’
The current Durham 2nd XI batting coach Jon Lewis, and Assistant Academy coach and England Women’s batting coach Alastair Maiden, will explore various coaching techniques aimed at introducing the basics of batting.

‘The leader in the band-the Wicket Keeper’s Role’
Martin Speight will share his extensive experience and knowledge from when he played for Sussex and Durham, and will explore the importance of character in selecting and developing young wicket keepers.

‘Performance Analysis – the use of technology in bowling’
This workshop will give you an insight into how modern technology such as digital video cameras, iPads and iPhones can be used to help coaches analyse performance

‘Fielding the modern way’
Current Durham Academy coach John Windows has been working with the talented young cricketers in the county for many years and has developed and ‘invented’ hundreds of skill-based fielding drills.

Ticket Price:
The conference will be free of charge for any Volunteer Durham members.

£15 (for ECBCA members) and £25 (for non ECBCA members—if you join ECBCA on the day we will refund you £10)

This includes:
• Full day (9am—5pm)
• Introduction, welcome and key note speech with Geoff Cook
• Access to all 5 workshops
• Tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival
• Buffet style lunch
