Durham won the toss and elected to bat first, which proved to be fruitful after they declared with 428 on the board.  Karl Turner, who was on twelfth man duty and took the winning catch for England in the second npower Test Match against the West Indies  at Riverside earlier in the week, added 110 to the score.  Paul Muchall (81) and Ben Harmison (72) were the other notable contributors.

Worcestershire were bowled out for 154 in the first innings with Luke Evans picking up 3-23.  Chris Rushworth also claimed three wickets and Ben Harmison took two.

Rushworth’s form continued in Worcestershire’s second innings when he picked up further two scalps although Scott Borthwick was the bowler of the innings claiming 3-51 off 20 overs.  Worcestershire were all out for 283, setting Durham a target of just 10 to claim victory.
