Durham claim 6 wicket victory over Kent

Play started on day four with Durham requiring 102 runs to claim their second LV= County Championship win of the season.

As Dale Benkenstein passed the 38 mark on the scoreboard he replaced Paul Collingwood as the second highest first class run scorer for Durham, with only Jon Lewis ahead of him.  As the Durham innings reached the 25th over Benkenstein and Blackwell pushed the total past the hundred mark.

Benkenstein was dismissed one short of his fifty when he was caught by Van Jaarsveld off Ferley, bringing Ben Stokes to the middle.  Scott Borthwick returned to the field as a runner after Blackwell pulled up mid way through a single, with a suspected calf injury.  He went on to score a sixty ball fifty, including five boundaries and one maximum.

Ben Stokes brought up the Durham 150 with a boundary off the first ball of the 34th over and continued in that vein to take 26 off what would end up being the final over of the day.  His performance with the bat in both Durham innings ensured he received the Man of the Match award at the end of the match.

Durham won by 6 wickets, picking up 23 points in the process.
