Durham Boys’ Under 18s fell to defeat in the One Day County Cup quarter-final despite half-centuries for Luke Symington and Robbie Bowman.
Yorkshire put Durham into the field at Banks Homes Riverside but did lose a wicket in the first over with Will Alexander claiming the first.
A 107-run partnership between Joe Hayes (48) and Callum Ferguson (71) followed, with Isaac Tate picking up the second wicket in the 21st over.
The Young Ds then claimed wickets at regular intervals, dismissing the White Rose for 244 in the final over with Adam Jemkins adding 41.
Jim Twiddy (3/37) and Zac Smith (3/44) led the way with the ball for Durham sharing six wickets, while there were two scalps for Isaac Tate and one each for Alexander and Teddy Minto.
Will Gidman’s side too lost their first wicket in the opening over before sharing a stabilising 37-run stand for the second wicket.
Luke Symington reached his 50 with Durham three wickets down, coming from 58 balls with five fours in his partnership of 44 with Robbie Bowman.
Symington added two further fours in his 82-ball 67 before wickets in successive overs put Durham on the fence at 119 for five.
Bowman then took charge striking six fours and a pair of maximums to reach a 46-ball fifty, whilst sharing 47 with Alexander.
Bowman was out shortly after for 55 from 58 balls following Alexander with Durham 172/7.
The hosts added a further 15 before being bowled out with T McLelland picking up 3/27 while Charlie Richardson and Louie Wilson claimed two apiece.
