Captain Gareth Breese won the toss and elected to bat first. Durham posted 260-5 from their 50 overs with Will Gidman (88*) and newcomer Michael Richardson (53*) remaining unbeaten.
In response, Neil Killeen was the pick of the Durham attack taking 2-9 off 7 overs. Gareth Breese had a hand in four of the dismissals, picking up three catches and a wicket. Durham UCCE lasted the overs but couldn’t rally themselves and ended up 49 runs short on 211-6.
