Durham 2ndXI lose to Lancashire by 77 runs

Winning the toss Durham captain Karl Turner elected to field and the returning Mitchell Claydon picked up Proctor in the first over. Opening Partner Brown went on to top score for Lancashire with 98 and although Durham picked up regular wickets contributions of 55 and 48 from Cross and Tipper respectively helped Lancashire to 299-9 in their 50 overs.

Mitchell Clyadon finished with four wickets, with Harrison and Borthwick both finishing with two.

Needing six an over to win Durham lost both openers with only 19 on the board. Borthwick was joined by Latham and the pair put on 66 before Kerrigna picked up Latham and Wood with teh score on 85. Following three wickets for Parry, Borthwick and Harrison put on 93 for the ninth wicket before Parry picked up Harrison for wicket number four.

Scott Borthwick was the last wicket to fall on 133 from only 122 balls. His knock included 14 fours and 4 sixes as Durham finished 77 runs short of the target.
