A bowling attack containing Graham Onions, Mitchell Claydon, Callum Thorp, Mark Davies, Paul Wiseman and Will Gidman would cause many a team frequent problems. With Onions, Claydon and Thorp picking up wickets during an opening spell it was left to Will Gidman to rip through Scotland’s batting.
From only 8.3 over’s containing two maiden’s he finished with figures of 6-28. With Scotland registering 104 all out Durham looked to press home the advantage in the remaining over’s of the day.
Durham captain Gordon Muchall coming in at four is currently unbeaten on 81 well supported by Will Gidman’s 31 not out. There were also contributions from Coetzer 32 and Turner 39 as Durham reached 223 for four at the close of play.
