Ds abroad: Trevaskis hits half century in Upper Hut United victory

Liam Trevaskis was in fine form for Upper Hut United as he helped them secure back-to-back wins in Wellington, against Victoria University of Wellington Cricket Club.

Trevaskis, scored a well-made 53 from 39 balls including six fours and one six, coming to the crease with his side in a bit of trouble, having been reduced to 8/3. However, a 109-run partnership between Trevaskis and Matt Taylor helped Upper Hut United post 195/8 from 28 overs as rain halted play at Trentham Memorial Park.

The left-arm orthodox bowler, was also key with the ball, striking with figures of 3/5 from three overs, securing victory in 21.3 overs to win by 85 runs on the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method (DLS) method.

In last weekend’s fixture against Naenae Old Boy, Trevakis proved economical with the ball rounding off the match with figures of 1/31 from 10 overs, in Upper Hut’s eight wicket win.

Jack Burnham wasn’t in action this weekend as Johnsonville’s home game against  Eastern Suburbs was washed out.

Claremont-Nedlands finished day one of their game against Subiaco Floreat on 272/9 at Cresswell Park. Durham’s Cameron Steel didn’t feature in this rounds fixture for the Tigers as Nick Hobson top scored with 102 from 197 balls.

Sol Bell scored 33 from 45 balls as Fremantle posted 246 in their away fixture against Midland-Guildford. Fremantle are in complete control at the close of play, reducing Midland-Guildford to 87/5 from 22 overs. They will return back to action next Saturday 16 November.
