Ds Abroad: Luke Robinson stars with five-wicket haul, plus runs for Abi Glen

With pre-season now underway many of the Durham squad are spending their winter in sunnier climates playing overseas.

A regular feature on the Durham website throughout the winter will be recapping how the Durham players get on.

Luke Robinson took three wickets for Swan Valley, completing his five-wicket haul with figures of 5/41 on the second day of their two day game with Daniel Hogg’s Western Suburbs side.

Robinson claimed two poles as the hosts bowled out Western Suburbs for 113, leading by 157. The Valley declared their second innings before Robinson claimed the final scalp of the game with stalemate being called.

Hogg was in the runs in Western Suburb’s T20 defeat to Swanbourne, scoring 30 from 19 balls with two fours and sixes apiece. Hogg then struck once with the ball but his side were unable to defend their 142/7 falling to defeat by six wickets.

Abi Glen was in action again for South Perth in their seven-wicket T20 win over Midland-Guildford. Glen bowled Piparo for 60 at the death as the hosts made 105/6 claiming figures of one for eight in three overs.

Opening the batting, Glen made 21 as her side made a solid start before being run out in the 11th over as the visitors cruised to victory with 13 balls remaining.

Brydon Carse featured in England’s final two ODIs in their series defeat to New Zealand, going wicketless in the second game of the series before picking up figures of 1/60 and striking 36 in the series decider.
