Davies supports The Rainbow Trust Firewalk

“Rainbow Trust provides an essential service to families across the North East and I am only too pleased to help support the fire walk. I know how important team spirit is for success and appeal to community sporting teams to get involved and pledge their support to make this a memorable fundraising event for the charity. Sign up now and walk over hot coals for local families who walk a difficult path each day”, said Davies

Rainbow Trust’s Family Support Worker Sabrina Lawton from the Co. Durham Care Team has worked at the charity since May 2010 and thinks the firewalk is the ultimate mind over matter test.

Sabrina says, “Working at Rainbow Trust I am able to see first hand how difficult it is for families when they have a child who has a life limiting illness and the bravery and courage that they show when facing this.  Rainbow Trust is a wonderful charity which is able to give families that extra support at a time when it is most needed and this can make a huge difference both emotionally and practically.  I’m proud to be supporting Rainbow by taking part.”

Registration for this sponsored walk with a difference is just £25, with each walker pledging to raise a minimum of £150.  This sponsorship will allow the North East care team to spend a day with a parent helping them to cope with the demands of caring for a terminally ill child.

Spectators are very welcome on the evening to browse the fundraising stalls and enjoy the fiery entertainment.

The Firewalk is just one of the special events taking place across 2011 to help Rainbow Trust celebrate 25th of caring for families with a sick child.  To register for the fire walk visit www.rainbowtrust.org.uk/firewalk or to offer your support in 2011 call Lisa Corfield 0191 386 4400.
