Durham make the 317-mile-long trip to the Utilita Bowl to take on Hampshire in the One Day Cup tomorrow, Saturday 25 March.
Dani Hazell has named a squad of 13 to take on Hampshire with Grace Thompson and Abi Glen dropping out of the 14 named to face Surrey last weekend.
Trudy Johnson is in contention for her first appearance of the 2026 season after returning from England Women Under 19s tri-series in Australia.
Durham sit in eight place with one win from three and will face a 3rd-placed Hampshire team who sit on six points from two games with one win and one no result.
Hampshire chased down 266 with two balls to spare for an opening win against Essex before rain denied a result against Warwickshire after the hosts posted 354/7 at Edgbaston.

Words from Emily Windsor
I’m really excited, I haven’t been back to the Utilita Bowl since I left so I’m looking forward to going back to a ground I’ve played a lot of cricket at and see a lot of familiar faces. I’m very much looking forward to it but that doesn’t mean I’m not ready and fierce for a competition if not even hungrier to get that win for Durham.
It’s going to be a tough game, they’re a very strong side and we expect a lot of England players to be available this weekend. Hopefully it’s a good game of cricket and from my point of view, hopefully I can share some of my experiences in those conditions playing on that wicket week in, week out for numerous years to give us a bit of insight and get us over the line.
The group is building really nicely. We have talked about one win out of three, obviously we would prefer more but we are doing some things really well and building a nice platform to perform in 50-over cricket but sometimes you just need things to go your way. As a group we are doing a lot right, we want to keep getting better each game.
I’d like to have contributed a bit more and contributed to wins but it’s still early days. I’ve been lucky coming in at five after a brilliant platform has been built by our top order and that’s what we want. I’m happy to watch my teammates scores lots of runs. From my point of view, when I get my opportunity it’s about winning games of cricket.
Opposition Corner
Captain: Georgia Adams
Head coach: Paul Prichard
2025 finish: Runners-up
2025 highest run-scorer: Maia Bouchier (539)
2025 highest wicket-taker: Freya Davies (19)
Winter moves: The retirement of Freya Davies and the departure to Warwickshire of Mary Taylor has meant a major depletion in the fast-bowling cache. Hannah Hardwick and Francesca Sweet both arrive after successful trials and are capable of bowling pace. The ever-reliable Charli Knott has been replaced as overseas by leg-spinning all-rounder Amanda-Jade Wellington – who has previously taken plenty of wickets at Utilita Bowl for Southern Vipers and Southern Brave.
The big question: Will the domestic players step up when the England stars are away? With Maia Bouchier, Lauren Bell, Linsey Smith and Freya Kemp, Hampshire look a seriously impressive side. Without them things could be tricky. Ella McCaughan was exceptional before injury curtailed her 2025. She, Abi Norgrove, Georgia Adams, Rhianna Southby and Naomi Dattani have runs in them – which they will need to ease the pressure on an unproven bowling attack.
Player to watch: Hampshire need a young bowler to step up. After a breakout 2025, Daisy Gibb is tracking in the right direction to be that player. The 20-year-old mainly gained admirers in the Vitality Blast but converting her skiddy swing into 50-over consistency feels a natural next step, and she could be a danger to top-order batters up and down the country.
Final thought: Hampshire followed in the footsteps of their Southern Vipers forebearers in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup last season. Throughout that time, they have always found a way to regenerate and continue their dominant 50-over legacy. After losing key Vipers players, they topped the group stage but lost in the final. This year will need another rebirth, however, a top-four finish will still be the target.
