Crucial Fixture against Essex for Dynamos

The Durham Dynamos continue on the road this week, travelling south to Essex to take on the Eagles in a crucial Yorkshire Bank 40 fixture at Chelmsford tomorrow.

Durham recorded an 8- wicket win over Scotland in a rain affected match last night to cement their place at the top of Pool B whilst the Eagles on the other hand slipped to third place after a loss to Hampshire (2nd place on 12 points) at the Ageas Bowl.

One-Day Captain Mark Stoneman found some good form with the bat against the Saltires with a knock of 54 from 49 andfellow opener Phil Mustard (30) was also handy with the bat whilst Paul Collingwood and Ben Stokes both took 2 wickets.

The match is a big one with just 2.75 points separating the teams who will both be hungry for maximum points. A win for the Dynamos would almost guarantee a semi-finals berth with matches against Derbyshire (Derby, 15th August) and Surrey (Emirates Durham ICG, August 26th) to come.

There is just the one change to the 13-man squad with paceman Jamie Harrison travelling down to Chelmsford after Graham Onions received a blow to the hand last night in the match against Scotland and has broken his finger, hopeful for a return against Surrey next week.

The match is a day/night fixture and will commence at 4.40pm.  Fans can follow the action via Twitter- @DurhamCricket.
