Cricket to remember HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh

As a mark of respect, all nine LV= Insurance County Championship matches will pause between 2:50-4:10 on Saturday 17 April, to coincide with the funeral of HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh.

Durham take on Essex at Chelmsford in the second round of fixtures, with the funeral taking place on the third day.

Whilst play is paused, the two sides will take 20 mins for the tea interval leaving one hour of playing time to make up.

Thirty of those minutes will be made up on the Saturday of each fixture with an extra 15 minutes added to days one and two.

Hours of play as follows:

Days 1 & 2 (Thursday & Friday)

1100-1300

1340-1540

1600-1815

Day 3 (Saturday)

1100-1300

1340-1450

1610-1830

Day 4 (Sunday)

As normal

The ECB is also asking all recreational cricket clubs across England and Wales to pause play between 3pm and 4pm next Saturday in order to pay their respects alongside observing the one-minute silence at 3pm.
