Colin Ackermann top scored with 67 as Durham Second XI fell to a final-over T20 defeat against Yorkshire at Harrogate.
Opting to bat first, the Durham batters would have wished for a better start with openers Ben McKinney (10) and George Drissell (2) falling early.
Ackermann and Will Rhodes then shared 105 runs in 11 overs for the third wicket, advancing to 121 in the 15th over.
Ackermann’s 67 came from 40 balls with five fours and three sixes while Rhodes added 46 off 37 with a trio of boundaries and two maximums.
Yorkshire claimed a cluster of wickets in the closing stages as the visitors posted 158/8 in their 20 overs.
Isaac Bepey was Yorkshire’s standout bowler with figures of 3/21 while Subhaan Ali and C Richardson took two wickets apiece, Ben Coad also picking up one.
Duanne Olivier got the Ds off to the perfect start in their defence with three wickets in the powerplay including two in the opening over reducing Yorkshire to 13/3.
Jawa Akhtar and Finlay Bean put Durham to the sword with a 65-run partnership before Ben McKinney trapped the latter in front.
Daniel Hogg bowled Joe Thompson – Yorkshire 84/5 – but Akhtar continued his knock to take the White Rose over the line.
He made an unbeaten 67 from 48 balls with six fours and three sixes as Yorkshire completed their chase 159 with four wickets to spare despite a late fourth wickets for Olivier.
