Pupils from Sunnydale Community College, Sacriston Juniors, Lanchester EP Primary, Peases West Primary, Yohden Primary School, St Margaret’s Church of England school, East Stanley Primary and Langley Park Primary invited their parents to the event which celebrated the work they completed during their sessions in the Playing for Success classroom.
After the presentation the children had the opportunity to get their photo taken with the LV County Championship trophy.
During their weekly sessions at the Club the children had interviewed players in front of cameras, filmed a TV introduction for a match which the children wrote themselves and took part in weekly coaching sessions to teach them about cricket and develop their basic PE skills. The sessions are aimed to improve literacy, numeracy, ICT skills and encourage personal development.
