Carse returns for Worcestershire encounter

Durham return to Emirates Riverside tomorrow (Saturday 13 July) to take on Worcestershire, following a spell of three away trips in the Specsavers County Championship.

James Franklin’s side go into the fixture unbeaten in five matches following this week’s 119 run victory over Leicestershire, in which Ben Raine took a career best of 9/96 over his former club.

Worcestershire come into the game on the back of an 82-run defeat to Derbyshire at Kidderminster Cricket Club and sit ninth in the Division 2 table, 11 points behind Durham who are in fifth position.

A win for Durham, will put them right in the hunt for promotion, as they look to return to Division 1.

Franklin has selected a 14-man squad for this week’s home fixture in which Brydon Carse and Matthew Potts return, while Jack Campbell misses out due to injury.

Squad vs Worcestershire (13-16 July)

Cameron Bancroft (c), Alex Lees, Gareth Harte, Graham Clark, Jack Burnham, Liam Trevaskis, Ned Eckersley, Stuart Poynter, Ben Raine, Brydon Carse, Matthew Potts, Nathan Rimmington, Ryan Pringle, Chris Rushworth
