Carse, Pringle return for Glocs fixture

All-rounders Brydon Carse & Ryan Pringle return to Durham’s 13-man squad for the Specsavers County Championship match against Gloucestershire at Emirates Riverside.

Carse returns to a first-class squad for the first time since September 2017 following an impressive run in the Royal London One-Day Cup side after injury.

He bowled 28 overs in the Second XI Championship match against Derbyshire last week & followed up with a match-winning contribution with the bat during Friday’s Second XI Trophy match.

Pringle could play his first Championship fixture since June 2018 after also impressing for the Second XI thus far.

The 27-year-old hit an impressive unbeaten century in the match at Derby last week, bringing up his three figures in just 75 balls with 9x4s & 5x6s.

Cameron Steel & Matthew Potts are the two to make way from the defeat at Worcestershire.

It is the first time these sides have met in a first-class fixture at Emirates Riverside since 2003, a drawn match which was ruined by rain on the final day.
